Abstract :

The United States shares initial perspectives regarding preparations for the ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 (WTDC-25). We believe ITU-D should focus on its core mission of connecting the unconnected and promoting enabling environments for telecommunication/ICT policy to grow and expand the opportunities and benefits of the digital economy. We expect the ITU to use its funds responsibly and demonstrate a continuous commitment to deliver efficiently on its core mandate.
This document outlines initial United States perspectives regarding many of the expected issues under discussion during TDAG and at the WTDC-25. We urge ITU members to take this opportunity to focus efforts and limited resources on ITU-D activities that advance ITU's core priorities, leverage ITU-D's strengths, and lead to improved quality and value of outputs.
