The ITU Development Sector plays a critical role in advancing global connectivity, promoting digital inclusion, and fostering sustainable development. Europe is committed to strengthening ITU's ca-pacity-building initiatives and enhancing its role in executing impactful digital projects. This vision aligns with broader UN-led frameworks such as the Global Digital Compact (GDC) and the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), ensuring a cohesive and strategic approach to interna-tional digital transformation efforts. By prioritizing human-centric policies, gender equality, and resilience in telecommunications, Europe aims to contribute to the long-term success of ITU's de-velopment initiatives.
