Abstracto :

Resolution 17 of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) defines the organization of the Telecommunication Development Sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-D) and, in particular, its regional and area offices for the implementation of the ITU-D Action Plan in terms of regional initiatives.
In connection with the revision Plenipotentiary Conference (PP) Resolution 135 "ITU's role in the durable and sustainable development of telecommunications/information and communication technologies, in providing technical assistance and advice to developing countries and in implementing relevant national, regional and interregional projects" and Resolution 157 "Strengthening of the project execution and project monitoring functions in ITU" at PP-22, it is proposed to streamline the text of WTDC Resolution 17 to ensure greater flexibility in the selection of experts to implement projects within the framework of regional initiatives.
