Several activities and country projects that align with national priorities in Africa are empowering youth to get a job in the digital economy took place during the year, including a webinar on ‘Creating decent jobs for youth through digital transformation’ during the Africa-Europe Week of Partnerships 2022 and a youth-led session on ‘Decent jobs in Africa’s digital economy’ at the Generation Connect Youth Summit in Kigali, Rwanda.
Accessibility assessments of the e-recruitment platforms of six selected entities (including UN organizations) were conducted to identify barriers faced by applicants with disabilities and users of assistive technologies. Good practices and recommendations for these systems to become optimal were produced.
The ITU-ILO online self-paced training course on “Labour inclusion of persons with disabilities: How to ensure that online job applications and recruitment systems are accessible to all” was launched.
