National Emergency Telecommunications Plans Disaster-resilient ICTs
Join Us Disasters have devastating effects on people’s lives
and livelihoods and in terms of financial losses.
These developments demonstrate that there is a
need to redouble the efforts to reduce the impacts
of such events in the future
Each year, disasters cost the global economy around
520 billion USD, but for every dollar invested in
preparedness, approximately 4 USD is saved on the
cost of response.
ITU experts in close cooperation with partners
instigate strategic thinking and help national
leaders and policy-makers to develop, establish and
implement National Emergency Telecommunications
Plans as part of their national disaster risk reduction
strategies.
Join us to support the development of these plans in
the most vulnerable countries around the world.
