Functioning of the Coordination Committee and role of
Elected Officials

Terms
of reference
At
its 2003 session, the ITU Council resolved to create a group which would have
the following terms of reference:
"Consistent with Resolution 108 (Marrakesh,
2002):
a)
examine the functioning of the Coordination Committee, including the
tasks of the Deputy Secretary-General and the role of the other elected
officials;
b)
submit to the Council a report containing, in particular, the draft texts
that could be necessary in the event of modification of the Constitution or the
Convention and which could be used by Member States in preparing their proposals
in that regard to the next plenipotentiary conference."

Participation
The Group is open to participation
by Member States. The working methods of the Group are in English only.
Chairmanship
Further
to a consultation by correspondence of ITU Member States concerning proposed
leadership, Mr. A.
R. Sharafat from the Islamic Republic of Iran was designated Chairman
of the Group.
