Biographies
Denis Andreev, Director of Technopark, ZNIIS
Born on 28 July 1977 in Moscow (Russia). Denis Andreev was graduated from
the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) in 2000.
From 2000 to present time he is employed with ZNIIS. He begun as a engineer
and took part in different science-research works for National Telecom
players and in preparation different normative documents for Regulator.
In 2002 he was the head of research lab and was responsible for realizing
the network construction projects for service providers and corporative
sector.
In 2005 he was the head of department and was responsible for the developing
own technical solutions for NGN, creation telecom equipment and new
technology research.
From 2007 to present time he is the Director of Technopark and responsible
for control testing area of ZNIIS, preparation methodology of testing,
providing testing event on national and international layers.
From 2001 to present time he take part in ITU-T activities, regarding
signaling and testing. As a Rapporteur of ITU-T Q.8/11 he was one of authors
of four ITU-T Recs. Regarding testing Q.3900, Q.3901, Q.3902, Q.3903.
From March 2008 to present time he coordinates the activity of joint ITU-D/ZNIIS
project for creation International Telecommunication Testing Center (ITTC).
He published a lot of articles in national magazines regarding NGN
implementation, NGN services and NGN testing. |

Yoshikazu Ishii, MIC Japan
Yoshikazu Ishii received his B.E, M.S and Ph. D. in Telecommunication
Engineering from Osaka University, Japan, 1993, 1995 and 2008, respectively.
He is now in charge of international standardization in Standardization
Division, Global ICT Strategy Bureau, Ministry of International Affairs and
Communications (MIC), Japan. |
Primož Jenko, Technical Expert, Sintesio
After graduation, Primož started his career in 1998 as a GSM BSS project
engineer and joined Mobitel in 2000. As a mobile technology expert at
Mobitel, he is currently responsible for GPRS and UMTS packet core network
design and evolution. In cooperation with Sintesio, he has been active in
standardisation and testing activites such as ETSI Plugtest (test session
chair) and OMA Testfest. He was also a member of a successfully concluded
ETSI STF347. |
Sean Mac Curtain, ISO/CASCO secretary advisor
Sean Mac Curtain is Head of Conformity Assessment at the International
Standards Organization (ISO) and is also Secretary of the Policy Development
Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO). Prior to joining ISO he was
Executive Director at the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS)
where he was responsible for all accreditation programmes. He was an
international peer evaluator for both IAF and ILAC. Sean also spent the
early part of his career working in standardization and certification. He
was educated in both Ireland and South Africa. He holds a B.Sc degree and a
post graduate diploma in electronic engineering. He also has a Masters in
Business Leadership (MBL) and completed many quality related courses. |
Claude Monney, Rapporteur Q.6/5 (Swisscom)
Claude Monney is currently with Swisscom, which is the main Swiss
telecommunication operator, specializing in electromagnetic compatibility,
lighting protection and safety. He is an active member of regional
standardization bodies and acts as rapporteur for ITU-T SG5.
Claude received his master in electrical engineering, with specialization in
high voltage, from the Swiss federal polytechnic institute in 1992. This
education was completed in 2004 with a Master in Business and Administration
(MBA) from the University of Fribourg. He worked for many years for a
consulting office specialized in EMC. Afterwards, he has been involved for
more than 10 years in all aspects dealing with EMC, lighting protection,
safety as well as efficient powering and energy saving. |
Joshua Peprah
(Director, Regulatory Administration, National Communications Authority,
Ghana)
An electrical and electronics engineer by training, Mr Peprah has over 30
yrs of experience in the ICT industry, beginning as a design and
applications engineer with the semiconductor division of Texas Instruments
(TI) in Dallas, Texas, USA; with an MBA in operations research and
marketing, he managed several digital logic design projects at ti and was a
member of the team that introduced the famous digital signal processor (DSP)
chip that has become an integral part of most telecom and computing systems.
As the director of regulations and licensing (now regulatory administration)
for the past 7 years, with the National Communications Authority (NCA) of
Ghana, Mr Peprah has contributed immensely to the liberalization and rapid
growth of the ICT/Telecoms market in Ghana, which now boasts of a little
over 50% penetration in total access lines (fixed and mobile), with several
of the world class operators represented.
He also has oversight responsibility for the frequency management division
of the NCA.
Mr Peprah has extensive experience through active participation in the ITU-T
system, and currently is part of the expert group working on the ‘itu mark’
project, after guiding its successful acceptance at the WTSA-08 last October
in Johannesburg.
He has been associated with ‘watra’ since its inception and has promoted its
ideals throughout the sub-region. |
