Session 3: Accessibility in ICTs
Objectives: The session intends to provide a better understanding of
both the work and the current trends for accessibility to ICTs, with a
focus on the ITU-T's standardization work in the field and the needs of

Session 4: Climate Change and green ICTs
Objectives: Reducing the carbon footprint of the ICT sector (future
networks, data centers, recycling) and using ICTs to reduce GHG
emissions in other sectors (smart buildings, smart girds,
dematerialization) can help to mitigate the climate change. This session
will present the role and the activities put in place in the
standardization sector to contribute in the common efforts related to
climate change issues.

Session 5: Implementation of decisions of WTDC-10 and cooperation between
standardization and development sectors. Bridging the Standardization
Gap
Objectives: The session will present the main results for the Americas
Region obtained in the World Development Telecommunication Conference
held in Hyderabad, India, in May 2010. Key Resolutions will contribute
to the development of projects in the region for the improvement of the
network and the availability of modern services in the region.

Session 7: International Telecommunication Regulations (ITRs)/WCIT
Objectives: The session will introduce the ITRs and explain the history
leading to the current decisions to convene a World International
Conference on Telecommunications (WCIT) in 2012 in order to revise the
current ITRs, which have remained unchanged since 1988. The main issues
for consideration will be outlined.
