Introduction
Outside plant, such as the construction, installation and protection of public
telecommunications and associated structures, is a key element to ensure quality
and availability of services, especially when increase in performance and in demand
involve very high quantity of data transported in a network for video, audio
and data services.
The workshop has to give an overview on the activities of ITU-T
Study Group 6 on construction,
protection, installation and maintenance of outside plant infrastructure with
some basic technical approaches to unbundling in the local loop.
Objectives
The workshop will give an introduction to the state-of-the-art of tools,
techniques criteria, operation, maintenance and implementation of an Outside Plant
for the Access Network, intended as the last part of a telecommunication network
providing audio, video and data services for business and residential applications.
Attendees will be able to take part in discussions on implementation techniques and
future developments, as well as influence an output document providing an action
plan for follow-up after the event.
Target audience
Engineers, experts in outside plant and access network, sales and marketing managers
within operators, services providers and manufacturers, regional SDOs, lawyers and regulators.
