After a public safety career of over thirty-five years, Mr. Miller retired as Executive Director of 9-1-1 for the State of New Jersey, USA. During his tenure, his department designed and maintained the largest 9-1-1 network in the United States. During his tenure as New Jersey’s 9-1-1 Director, he administered the first live demonstration of FCC Phase II wireless 9-1-1 in North America.
Mr. Miller then directed 9-1-1 consulting activities for the international communications firm of RCC. Mr. Miller is an active member of APCO and the National Emergency Number Association in the USA and chairs the association’s Telematics and Automatic Crash Notification Committee. Mr. Miller also chairs the NENA Technical Issue Committee and has served as a consultant for General Motors OnStar.
Mr. Miller was educated at Bethany College and Rider University and is a certified Emergency Number Professional. Mr. Miller has appeared before the U.S. Congress and the FCC on several 9-1-1 issues. Mr. Miller also holds several patents in telephony. |
