Ubiquitous services and applications: needs of mobile users |
|
Those standards begin to be introduced into various systems by completing a lot of multimedia standards now. As a result, ICT is examined by a lot of application service into which IT was not introduced so far. E-Learning represented by e-Everything e-Health e-Government E-commerce etc. are gradually developed. These service systems differ from Telecom tools of the end to end such as a existing telephone, Facsimile, Videophone, and Videoconference, are needed by the system which takes the data base in a human interface and the network, and an organic operation of the network and the system/the terminal is needed.
The standard of Meta data and contents ID by which the network and the system are united becomes important here. However, a considerable gap exists during the multi application and making to the standard. The achievement of the ubiquitous environment with which the terminal and the network can be linked anytime and anywhere has risen further by the progress of the network technology and the wireless technology.
Mobile office appeared on the scene in such an environment. The improvement and the car of the function of the traffic system became possible by making the car IT real-time Input/Output of information, and became safe vehicles. A lot of applications are proposed in such a work. All drivers become real-time those who send news by equipping with the camera which is the input tool of multimedia information, the microphone, and the cordless technology as this one example in the car, and synchronizing with the data base in the network.
That is, the mobile server which can in real time send surrounding information of the car becomes possible. This case takes up the mobile office where information on the multimedia can be in real time sent, and describes the system architecture and the problem from the viewpoint of international standardization.
It is includes the following items.
- Current situation for Telematics.
- Applications for Telematics
- Related Multimedia Technologies
- Consideration of Standardization for Telematics
