The FM/TV domain

Historically, this covered only FM (frequency modulation) sound broadcasting and TV (television) broadcasting. More recently, this domain has been expanded to cover T-DAB (Terrestrial Digital Audio Broadcasting) which is included in this domain because of the similarities in the structure of the data. With the addition of T-DAB, it would be more correct to refer to “VHF Sound Broadcasting” rather than FM. Nonetheless, the FM/TV terminology has been retained because of its extensive use in database table names, in software, etc.

Unlike the LF/MF domain, the FM/TV domain in TerRaBase has a structure that has the same parameters for FM/TV notices, assignments, and allotments throughout their entire operating period because, in these frequency bands, there is very little difference in propagation at different times during the 24-hour day.

The database tables in the FM/TV portion of TerRaBase have names beginning with fmtv. The FM/TV database tables are:

FMTV

These FM/TV database tables implement a simple conceptual structure: Each assignment, or notice to add, modify, or suppress an assignment, has a row in the fmtv_terra table. Each GE06 allotment, or notice to add, modify, or suppress a GE06 allotment, also has a row in the fmtv_terra table.
