Abstract :

The 2016 session of Council adopted a revision of Resolution 1333 on the guiding principles for the creation, management and termination of Council working groups. The Resolution instructs the Secretary-General to submit to each Council a table that identifies the Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of each CWG, their tenure of office, and region.
In addition, taking into account the revised Resolution, the Council invited the Secretary-General to undertake consultations to appoint Vice-Chairmen for each Council Working Group. The Secretary General was also instructed to carry out consultations to identify six Vice-Chairmen for the Expert group on ITRs, one from each ITU region, taking into account the competency of candidates, and with a view to promoting equitable geographical distribution and gender balance.
