ICP is the regulatory body of the Portuguese communications sector
providing support to the Government in the tutelage of the public communications sector
and ensuring the national representation in ITU. ICP actively supported the first ITU
Policy Forum on Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite (GMPCS) and is now also
sponsoring the second ITU Policy Forum on Trade in Telecommunication Services. |

The Netherlands has fully liberalised its
market for telecommunications as from 1 July 1997 and is fully committed to the
WTO-agreement which has recently entered into force. The Netherlands attaches much
importance to the succes of the World Policy Forum and wishes all participants a
constructive and fruitfull conference. |

employees, Swisscom, the former Telecom PTT is the leading telecommunications company in
Switzerland. Since 1 January 1998, Swisscom has been a limited company
(Aktiengesellschaft, AG) with a special legal status. Swisscom's
contribution enabled the attendance of a developing country representative. |
