Report Misconduct

Report Misconduct or Wrongdoing

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all our operations. We take misconduct seriously, and encourage individuals to report any concerns related to unethical behaviour, violations of policies, or any actions that could undermine the credibility and values of the organization.

The ITU Oversight Unit is responsible for investigating reports of alleged misconduct against ITU personnel and contracted parties. The Oversight Unit is committed to addressing all reports promptly, fairly, and with due diligence. All ITU systems, processes, operations, functions, and activities as well as funds made available to grantee institutions are subject to OU review and oversight.

Investigations are administrative in nature and are not criminal investigations.

How to Report Misconduct

If you believe that you have witnessed or been subject to misconduct, you are encouraged to report it to the ITU Oversight Unit, which ensures the integrity and accountability of ITU's operations and activities.

Reports of misconduct can be submitted confidentially to the following email address:

Email: ituhotline

ProtonMail is an independent (non ITU) email service with built-in end-to-end encryption and other security features.  Further information about ProtonMail is available at https://protonmail.com/about.

All reports will be treated with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality

You may choose to report misconduct anonymously; however, providing contact information allows the Oversight Unit to follow up for additional details, which may be necessary to effectively investigate the matter.

What Happens After You Submit a Report?

Once a report is received, it will be reviewed in accordance with the ITU Oversight Charter. You will receive a reference number, and an investigator may be in touch with you to gather further information. We encourage you to provide contact details to allow the Oversight Unit to follow up with you if required.
