ICTs play an increasingly important role in advancing development – a role that will expand as the world becomes more connected. Every year, ITU recognizes global leaders who promote the use of ICTs to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), presenting them with the ICTs in Sustainable Development Award. This prestigious award was launched in 2015 to coincide with the adoption of the UN SDGs.
