2025 ITU/MIIT High-Level Seminar

The year 2025 marks a convergence of historic milestones in global digital development, including the 160th Anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the 10th Anniversary of the United Nations Digital Transformation Initiatives, and the 30th Anniversary of the landmark Fourth World Conference on Women. In this spirit, ITU and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People's Republic of China are proud to co-host a High-Level Seminar during the week of the WSIS+20 High-Level Event and AI for Good Global Summit.

ITU and MIIT have been jointly organizing annual events on ICT policy and regulatory issues for around 20 years now. This time, the high-level seminar aims to celebrate ITU's legacy of innovation and multilateralism, while fostering inclusive dialogue on harnessing digital technologies to accelerate sustainable development and global cooperation.

THEME & TARGET AUDIENCE

Under the theme “Digital Innovation Cooperation for Future and for All", the event aims to bring together representatives from ITU, Member States, industry and Academia.

EVENT SCOPE

The ITU/MIIT High-Level Seminar 2025 aims to:​

  • Celebrating 160 years of innovation and multilateralism and harnessing ITU's influence in the digital age.
  • Promoting Sustainable Development by discussing strategies for enabling developing countries to harness the benefits of digital technologies in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Reinforcing partnerships between ITU, China, and other Member States to address global ICT challenges.
