H.E. Mr Nasser BIN OBOOD AL FALASI, Chief Government Relations & Communications Officer, Etisalat Group

Nasser bin Obood was appointed Group Chief Government Relations and Corporate Communications Officer at Etisalat Group in April 2012. As head of the Group’s Corporate Communications department, Bin Obood will oversee building and facilitating of business relations with government and telecommunications regulatory bodies across 16 markets, as well as Social Responsibility initiatives for the Group.

Prior to this, he was acting CEO for Etisalat UAE since November 2009 where he defined the road map for all technology and innovation at Etisalat UAE. Nasser also serves as a board member of Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications, and board member of Atlantique Telecom.

As the Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer before taking on the role as the Acting CEO, Nasser had under his jurisdiction many of the operational divisions of Etisalat including contracts and administration, legal affairs, regulatory, quality, the corporate communication department, and carrier and whole sale department.

He joined Etisalat in 1986 as switching engineer. In 1992 he was promoted to Chief Engineering Switching & Transmission of Abu Dhabi Region. His next move was to general manager of Al Ain region. In March 2005, Mr. Bin Obood was promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and became Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in April 2006.

Nasser Ahmed Bin Obood holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the UAE University, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
