​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Himanshu Sharma is an experienced civil servant currently serving as the Director of the National Broadband Mission within the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. In this role, he leads efforts to enhance broadband infrastructure across the nation, particularly focusing on rural and underserved regions. His work includes monitoring and facilitating 5G networks, fiber optic expansions, and the development of mobile tower installations, all aimed at bridging India's digital divide. Himanshu holds a Master’s in Data Science and Engineering from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor's in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Punjab Engineering College. He has a strong background in data analytics, software development, and project management, having worked as a Senior Software Engineer at MakeMyTrip.com for four years. His technical proficiency spans Python, Java, and various data science tools, which he utilizes to drive technology-driven governance initiatives.
