Mr. Debkumar Chakrabarti, an esteemed officer from the 1988 batch of the Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS), brings over 34 years of experience in telecommunications, public policy, and management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and a Master’s in Public Policy and Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, New York. Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Chakrabarti has held key positions in the Department of Telecommunications, Telecom PSUs, TRAI, and ISRO. He has made significant contributions in the fields of management, human resources, remote sensing, emerging technologies, and regulations. Since September 2023, Mr. Chakrabarti has been leading the National Communication Academy in Ghaziabad as its Director General, where he focuses on advancing telecommunications education and innovation. He is also a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India) (FIE).
