Larry Schwartz

Larry is Chairman & CEO of Seaborn Networks, a developer and operator of submarine fiber optic cables systems, including Seabras-1 which is the first direct route between the US and Brazil. Alcatel-Lucent has begun construction of this system for Seaborn. Larry previously served as CEO, board member and one of the co-owners of the parent company of Global Marine Systems. Global Marine operates one of the world’s largest fleets of cableships and is a leading installer of submarine cable systems. Larry led the acquisition of Global Marine from Global Crossing in 2004 and the acquisition of Red Sky Systems, a developer of subsea network technology. He also previously served as a board member of International Cableship Pte, a JV with SingTel that provides subsea cable maintenance in South East Asia.

Before entering the cableship business, Larry served as a Senior Vice President, Operations of Genuity Inc., a Fortune 1000 and Nasdaq-listed wholesale carrier with a global network infrastructure. While there, he led the consolidation of Genuity’s Tier I Global IP Infrastructure into Level 3 Communications. Larry has also been a founder, board member, investor and officer of numerous other telecom, marine engineering and technology companies.​
