Johan Engström is the appointed Senior Technical Specialist for Safety Analysis Driver Behaviour at Volvo Group Truck Technologies, Advanced Technology and Research, where he has been employed since 2000.
He received an MSc in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems at the University of Sussex, UK, in 2000 and earned his PhD in 2011 from Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Sweden.
He chairs the EU side of the US-EU Working Group on Driver Distraction and HMI, under the framework of the US-EU Task Force on ITS and convenes the ISO task force on standardizing the Detection Response Task (DRT) under TC22/SC13/WG8.
