JOHAR Ankush


Ankush Johar is a senior internet, mobile and cyber security industry veteran. His companies have worked with over 60% of all mobile operators in the world, i.e. over 500+ mobile operators out of the nearly 800 across 150+ countries. He has also worked with over 75+ Regulators and ministries globally. His cyber security ventures have serviced 200+ prominent organisations. He is the inventor of the Securathon™ construct.

At the start of his career, he founded and successfully reverse-merged his first venture with a publicly listed company in the Telecoms vertical. At age 21, He conceived and implemented the world's first & largest short code based service.

He also serves on the board of a Venture Firm & is an avid investor in Telecom, Media and Cyber Security companies. He holds an Honors degree in Economics and a MSc from City University, London.

He makes regular appearances in the media on CNN, BBC, Sky News, CNBC and other Tier 1 media properties, amongst other prominent speaker & chairperson engagements.

The session starts with a small demonstration of how real IoT hacks are. By how much has IoT increased our exposure to cyber threats. IoT attacks by themselves have gone up tremendously. So What can be done? - A Multi-Layered approach & Segmentation is key to securing IoT: a case study. The talk then focusses on a pioneering approach to Privacy Ratings + a case study on handling privacy issues.
