Sheikh Md Monirul Islam is working as the Chief External & Corporate Affairs Officer of bKash Limited, a Mobile Financial Service provider that functions as a subsidiary of BRAC Bank Limited since 2014. He has served in Bangladesh Army for 34 years with the experience of commanding two Infantry Divisions in rank of Major General. He also served as the Director General (CEO) of National Security Intelligence, Special Security Force and Government Think Tank - Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies. He was instructor in Defence College and Bangladesh Military Academy. He held the appointment of Chief of Protocol of Bangladesh on deputation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Besides his current appointment in bKash Limited, he is also the Chief Anti Money Laundering & Compliance Officer (CAMALCO). He, in the recent past has attended both Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Asia – Pacific Financial Inclusion Summit 2015 organized in the Philippines. He has attended course on ‘Risked Based Approach to Anti Money Laundering and Combating Terrorist Financing’ conducted by the Euromoney Learning Solutions, UK.
