Mr. Adegboyega Oyekola AJANI, a Nigeria, born on 28 December 1956, is an Industrial Development Officer in the UNIDO Regional Office in Beijing, China. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and MBA. He has twenty-four years of experience working in UNIDO in the development and implementation of technical cooperation programmes in the area of Green Industry. The technical cooperation programme entails supporting policy framework for Green Industry development, strengthening institutional capacities, transfer and diffusion of environmentally sound technologies, promoting investments; and development of quality, energy and environmental management systems for trade capacity building. He is also responsible for development and implementation of technical cooperation projects in Mongolia which is under the coverage of the UNIDO Regional Office in China.
Before joining UNIDO, Mr. Ajani had worked in the upstream and downstream of the oil and gas sector in Nigeria where he was involved in the engineering and management of oil and gas investment and turn-key projects which included greenfield refineries, petrochemical plants and LNG projects. He was also involved in process systems engineering, upgrading/debottlenecking and optimization of existing refineries and petrochemical plants.
