Minoru Takeno is Head of Corporate Environmental Strategy Unit of Fujitsu Limited appointed in June 2011 where he is responsible for strengthening the company’s environmental management, promoting its eco-friendly products and solutions, and implementing environmental contribution activities.
He brings 29 years of telecommunications industry experience to his current position. His career in telecommunications began he joined Fujitsu in 1981 as an engineer in Central Office Switching System development division. From 1992 through 2000, he took management positions and led research and development of ASIC and Circuit Technology for telecommunication products. He served as Vice President leading Metro WDM and IP Transport systems development from 2001 to 2006. Then he played a key role as Senior Vice President of Photonics Systems Group overseeing research and development, engineering and manufacturing at Network Business Group’s headquarters in Kawasaki, Japan. From 2009 to 2010, he was the primary responsibility as Senior Vice President of Network Business Systems Group.
He holds a Bachelor and a Master degree of Applied Physics from Waseda University and a Master degree of Management from McGill University.
