Presentation abstract:
Title:Villach - Sustainability and longterm energy strategy
The presentation covers the history and development of Villach's energy strategy from the early 80ies up to now. The main lesson learnt was that participation of citizens and local companies is crucial for succeeding. Since the beginnings the focus of Villach's strategy developed from a production-based approach to an integrated process; including mobility, spatial planning, awareness campaigns, energy efficiency and participation not only on the Company but also on the citizens level. With this strategy Villach is heading for the ambitious 2050 goals set in the smart city strategy.
