PACI Raffaele

​Raffaele Paci was born in Sassari on 3 May 1955. In 1979 he graduated in Political Science at the University of Cagliari.

Since March 2014 is councillor for economics in the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and Vice-president. He is on leave from the University of Cagliari (Italy) where he is full professor of Applied Economics and Jean Monnet Chair on “Regional Economic Integration in the European Union”. Post graduate studies in University of Essex and Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Northeastern University, Boston. He has been Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Cagliari, Director of CRENoS (Center for North South Economic Research), board member of ICT and Biotech firms. He is work package coordinator in FP7 projects SEARCH and IAREG devoted to the analysis of the effects of innovation and intangible assets on regional performance.

His main research interests are Innovative activity and externalities, Intangible assets, Spatial spillovers and their effects on Economic performance. His most recent papers appeared in Journal of Economic Geography, Industrial and Corporate Change, Economic Geography, Journal of Regional Science, Regional Studies, Applied Economics, Annals of Regional Science, European Planning Studies.
