Scott Cain – Chief Business Officer, Future Cities Catapult
The Future Cities Catapult is a global centre of excellence on urban innovation. It helps businesses and other innovators to develop, test and deploy the products and services that cities need (www.futurecities.catapult.org.uk).
Scott leads on business and project development at the Future Cities Catapult, as well as overseeing its relationships with key stakeholders in city governments, academia and high growth SMEs.
Scott previously led on future cities for Innovate UK, the UK's innovation agency, including its £34m Demonstrator programme and the investment case for the establishment of the Catapult centre.
Scott previously co-founded and Chaired Global Entrepreneurship Week, which involves over 10 million people in pro-entrepreneurship activities in over 120 countries each year. Scott was also CEO of Enterprise UK, the business-led body to create a more enterprising culture, public policy and economy in the UK, where he worked to a board of the Director Generals of the CBI, IOD and British Chamber of Commerce.
Scott is a founding partner of The Long Run Venture, which creates new accelerator programmes like Clean and Cool and Solve, and makes seed level investments in early stage technology firms.
