Monica Ibido is Programme Manager at CEN-CENELEC Management Centre (CCMC), Brussels since 2012.
She is working at the Standard Department in support of European Standardization in the areas of Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials (CEN/TC 352 ‘Nanotechnologies’), Accessibility for persons with disabilities (CEN-CENELEC-ETSI JWG eAccessibility and CEN-CENELEC JWG 5 ‘Design for All’), Innovation Management (CEN/TC 389 ‘Innovation Management’) and Smart Cities (CEN-CENELEC-ETSI Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities -Coordination Group).
She holds almost 10 years of expertise in EU affairs in EU policy and funding for research, technological development and innovation (FP6, FP7 and HORIZON 2020).
She was Managing Director at CERI- Centro Europeo per la Ricerca Italiana; Policy Officer at EARTO - The Association of European Research and Technology Organisations and Project Manager of the FP7 project “AeroPortal” at the AeroSpace and Defence Industry Association of Europe (ASD-Brussels). She also worked as European Advisor at ENEA Liaison Office in Brussels (the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development); Unioncamere (the Italian representation of the Chambers of Commerce) and she completed with a temporary assignment at the European Commission DG RTD.
Monica is guest lecturer on project management and EU funding for different European Universities and organisations: VUB (Vesalius College) in Brussels; the College of Europe in Bruges and EIPA - European Institute for Public Administrations in Maastricht.
Born in 1974, she holds a degree in Political Science with first class honours at University of Pavia (Italy), a Postgraduate Master on Internet Marketing and Digital Economy at the “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore”, Milan (Italy) and a Master of Arts in International Politics at CERIS -Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques in Brussels.
