​Paul is representing the European Multi-disciplinary Seafloor and water Column Observatory Research and Infrastructure Consortium and leads a work package on Innovation and Commercialisation in EMSODEV a technology project focused on developing standard subsea technologies for the EMSO observatory Nodes.
Paul has responsibility for the co-ordination of key research projects utilizing the Irish Marine Institutes infrastructure and actively works with industrial and academic users of the infrastructure in the operational deployment of their technology. Paul has worked in the offshore Oil industry as a logging and drilling fluids engineer and in the marine sector as a software developer was involved in developing a range of marine data acquisition and visualisation systems. Paul is actively involved with the development of the Galway Bay subsea cable project and the setting up and development of Irelands National test bed for advanced Marine Technologies - SmartBay.
