ITU Workshop on "Machine Learning for 5G and beyond"

Introduction
The International Telecommunication Union organized a workshop on "Machine Learning for 5G and beyond" at the ITU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland on 29 January 2018. This workshop intended to offer a platform for all involved stakeholders and aimed to discuss requirements, expectations, challenges, research gaps and standardization needs for
machine learning for 5G networks.
This workshop took place in conjunction with the inagural meeting of the new ITU-T Focus Group on Machine Learning for Future Networks including 5G (FG-ML5G) taking place from 30 January to 2 February 2018 in the same venue.
Participants of this workshop were also invited to attend the upcoming AI for Good Global Summit, held from 15-17 May 2018, with the aim to identify practical applications of AI with the potential to accelerate progress towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Target Audience
ITU members and non-members were invited. Participation was free of charge.
