ITU-R Handbook on Satellite Communications and Technologies

​​​​​​​​​​​​Introduction​

​​​​​The meeting of Study Group (SG) 4 in April/May 2024 agreed on the development of a Handbook on Satellite Communications and Technologies that will cover fixed-satellite service (FSS), broadcast-satellite service (BSS), mobile-satellite service (MSS) and radiodetermination-satellite service (RDSS).​ ​​

Working Party 4A has been assigned as the responsible group for the development of the Handbook. Proposals from ITU-R members could be submitted to the relevant WPs 4A, 4B, 4C in accordance with Resolution ITU-R 1-9.​

​​​​The purposes of this Handbook of Satellite Communication and Technologies are as follows:

How to contribute – ITU-R Members

​​ITU-R members, SG 4 associate members and academia, are encouraged to submit their proposals to the relevant WPs 4A, 4B, 4C and/or to WP 4A in accordance with Resolution ITU-R 1-9.

Contributions from non-members of ITU-R

​​Should other organizations/entities which are not members of ITU-R be interested to participate to the works relating to this handbook, they can join the ​ITU-R membership. Alternatively, they could manifest their interest, by providing their contact details to the handbook Editor or to the counsellor of SG 4​.​​​
