ITU World Radiocommunication Seminar 2016 (WRS-16), 12 to 16 December 2016, Geneva, Switzerland

WRS-16banner.jpgThe ​​​​​​ITU Radiocommunication Bureau has the pleasure to invite your Administration or organization to attend the ITU World Radiocommunication Seminar 2016 (WRS-16), to be held in Geneva, from 12 to 16 December 2016.
The ITU organizes World Radiocommunication Seminars (WRS) on a biennial basis, in complement to the cycle of Regional Radiocommunication Seminars (RRS). WRS deal with the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and the satellite orbits, and, in particular, with the application of the provisions of the ITU Radio Regulations.
WRS-16 sessions will be organized in three parts, as desc​ribed here below.​​​​

1. OPENING OF WRS-16 and CELEBRATIONS OF THE 110th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ITU RADIO REGULATIONS (morning of 12 Dec. 2016)


The opening morning of the event (Monday 12 Dec. 09:30 to 12:30) will be dedicated to the opening of the WRS-16 and to the celebrations in honour of the 110th anniversary of the ITU Radio Regulations

2. WRS-16 PLENARY SESSIONS (12 to 14 Dec. 2016)

From 14:00 hours on Monday 12 December to 12:00 hours on Wednesday 14 December
The seminar’s plenary sessions will cover general radiocommunication related matters and applications of ITU Radio Regulations provisions.

3. WRS-16 WORKSHOPS (14 to 16 Dec. 2016)

From 14:00 hours on Wednesday 14 December to 17:00 hours on Friday 16 December
The seminar’s workshops will enable participants to prepare their own schedule, based on their interest, alternating between space and terrestrial services and between lectures and practical sessions. They will allow participants to get hands-on experience with ITU notification procedures as well as with the software and electronic publications made available by the Radiocommunication Bureau to the ITU membership.

Webcast & Captioning

Webcast (in the 6 languages of the Union) and Captioning (in English only) will be provided for the WRS-16 Plenary Sessions. An ITU TIES account is required to access these services.
