During the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly, BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin participated in an event on ''The future of digital cooperation: Building resilience through safe, trusted, and inclusive digital public infrastructure''
The High-Level event featuring heads of states and eminent policy-makers, was hosted by the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA) members; the Governments of Estonia, Germany, Norway and Sierra Leone; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; UNDP; UNICEF; Smart Africa and the World Bank.
Ms Bogdan-Martin underscored the role of connectivity, a whole-of-government approach, and collaboration, to build inclusive digital public infrastructure. ITU is working towards these goals through the GovStack initiative and Partner2Connect Digital Coalition.
''Let's never lose sight of the fact that digital transformation is not really about technology, it's about societies, and, above all, about people'', Ms Bogdan-Martin encouraged.
