9th meeting of the Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group

The ninth meeting of the Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group opened on 10 January.

While delivering opening remarks, the BDT Director praised the work of delegates and told them that achieving seamless global connectivity ''is forged through the dedication of engineers and policymakers like yourselves, working hard behind the scenes to create the networks and infrastructure that the whole world now relies on.''

She underscored the importance of their work to ITU's Development sector, given that their efforts to ensure global interoperability are part and parcel of the mission to achieve 'connectivity for all'.

''We are reminded how lucky we are that the world can count on the always-on, seamlessly interoperable high-speed information and communication technologies that are the product of your global collaboration, through bodies such as this one, and through the technical working groups that so many of you are a part of,'' she said.

Ms Bogdan-Martin invited delegates to take part in the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference in 2022, where varied stakeholders will work together to achieve a vision of meaningful, universal connectivity.
