BDT Director's Corner: Activities

BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin delivered an opening address at the Third Meeting of the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Preparatory Group for WTDC.  

She acknowledged the invaluable support provided by APT Members in important inter-regional coordination in the lead up to the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC). 

Commending the unique capacity building efforts undertaken, she stated that APT has proven to be a “vital partner in helping countries realize digital transformation across sectors, and this will only grow in importance, post-pandemic".  

She encouraged governments to facilitate universal digital access, provide universal digital skills training and ensure affordability and online safety for women.   ​
