    36th CANTO Conference and Exhibition

    BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin delivered a feature address on ''Digital Recovery''' to the 36th CANTO conference and exhibition, which was held under the theme of ''Our New Digital Reality''. 

    Noting the enduring effects of the COVID pandemic on the ICT sector, Ms Bogdan-Martin affirmed that digital will be at the heart of every nation's social and economic recovery.

    She highlighted ways to accelerate digitally-led recovery, specifically through:

    1. Collaborative 5th generation regulation
    2. Innovative partnerships
    3. Holistic government strategies that prioritize digital transformation

    Ms Bogdan-Martin reiterated ITU's commitment to work productively together with stakeholders in the Caribbean region. This includes by partnering on projects that address national and regional priorities, and longer-term initiatives to build regional recovery and resilience, in effort to help the region capitalize on new digital opportunities.
