BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin spoke with Ms Alyssa Carson, the youngest NASA Astronaut Trainee astrobiology student, on her dreams and thoughts on female role models and bringing more girls into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.
This episode of the ''UNconnected'' podcast comes as part of the 10 Moments of Girls in ICT, a series of virtual events hosted by ITU and partners in celebration of International Girls in ICT Day 2021.
Given Ms Carson's role as a young role model for other girls who aspire to get involved in STEM, Ms Bogdan-Martin asked her to share her views on the importance of connecting girls and women with technology and STEM education, the gender gap in STEM, young people's contributions to Technology for Good, and more.
