BDT Director's Corner: Activities

BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin gave welcoming remarks to participants at the opening ceremony of ITU's training on ''Women's Leadership in the field of Telecommunications and ICT'', in the Americas region.

ITU in cooperation with the EQUALS Global Partnership and the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) organized this training to help women develop skills to advance in the ICT sector.

Ms Bogdan-Martin noted that the training will provide women with tools to further develop management skills, opportunities to meet other inspiring women in the sector, and allow them to exchange experiences and information on conscious leadership.

She thanked tutors for their excellent work, and thanked participants for the confidence shown in ITU's training activities. She also invited them to take advantage of the other resources that ITU makes available to members through ITU Academy.

She affirmed that by working together, we can build a barrier-free world for women ''in which all have access to the same opportunities.''
