ITU-D Tech Talk with Recognized Operating Agencies (ROA)

BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin gave opening remarks to the first session of BDT's ''Tech Talks"— a series of events organized to strengthen BDT engagement with ITU-D Sector Members, and increase opportunities for exchange and interaction.

The first session was held with the Recognized Operating Agencies (ROA). Members shared insights on technological trends in their individual organizations and the Sector, and ongoing projects and initiatives that contribute to development.

Ms Bogdan-Martin invited members to make suggestions on how the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference in November 2021 (WTDC-21) can bring on board and build around the views of the industry and private sector, so as to have meaningful outcomes that can be acted upon collaboratively by various stakeholders.

She noted the crucial importance and involvement of the private sector and other stakeholder groups to connect the 3.7 billion people who remain unconnected.
