Measuring digital development: Facts and Figures 2024

ITU’s Measuring digital development: Facts and Figures 2024 offers a snapshot of the most important ICT indicators, including estimates for the current year.

This year’s edition shows that Internet use continues to grow, but universality remains elusive, especially in low-income regions. Furthermore, there is a lack of progress in bridging the urban-rural divide, except in the lowest income group.

ITU’s flagship Facts and Figures publication tracks global connectivity with estimates of key indicators, including those related to Internet use, infrastructure, affordability, Internet traffic, gender, and location.

Measuring digital development: Facts and Figures – Focus on Landlocked Developing Countries (July 2025)

Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) face unique constraints, but digital technologies offer powerful tools to overcome them. They can unlock access to essential services, strengthen resilience, and support integration into the global economy.

This special edition of ITU’s Facts and Figures series presents a comprehensive overview of digital progress in LLDCs, with key data and analysis on connectivity, affordability, and digital policy. It highlights both the diversity of experiences across LLDCs and the common challenges they face, offering insights to guide action toward universal and meaningful connectivity.
