Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH)

​​​​​The 7th Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH) took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 19-20 September 2019. The meeting is organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and hosted by ITU. The EGH meeting are held back-to-back with the 10th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI), which also took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 17-18 September 2019.

The meeting examined the contributions received from members of the EGH online discussion forum over the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items that were under discussion. The outcome of the discussions will be presented at the 17th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS).

The topics that had been covered during the EGH meeting included the measurement of ICT skills, Internet users, cybersecurity, e-waste, child online protection, IoT, and community connectivity indicators. A draft of the revised ITU Manual for Measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals was presented for feedback by the experts.

EGH meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection.
