The Regional Forum for Europe
“Accessible Europe: ICT 4 ALL" will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 2-3 December 2025. The Forum is
organized by the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the European Commission (EC).
The Forum will also benefit from the support of key European stakeholders, including but not limited to the European Federation of Hard of Hearing People (EFHOH).
An integral part of the event will be the Pitching Competition on Digital Innovative Solutions for Accessible Europe, benefiting from the strategic partnership between ITU and EIT – European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
The Forum serves as a collaborative platform for multistakeholder dialogue, knowledge sharing, and networking to foster an inclusive digital society.
Accessible Europe is held in support of the ITU Regional Initiatives for Europe “EUR3: Digital Inclusion and Skills Development" and its objectives based on priority telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICT) issue areas as identified in the 2022 World Telecommunication Development Conferences (WTDC) and Resolution 58 (Rev. Kigali, 2022).
The 2025 edition of Accessible Europe is also being held in the context of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), a globally recognized annual observance taking place on 3 December 2025, dedicated to promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
With the European Accessibility Act (EAA) requiring the Member States to implement their transposed national laws by June 2025, unification of accessibility and innovation has become crucial. The EAA mandates a range of products and services, including numerous ICTs, to adhere to an accessibility standard.
The first day will focus on policies, strategies, and national experiences. Sessions will cover the international and regional perspectives on building an environment that fosters digital accessibility, followed by discussions on implementing policies into practice, and a multisectoral dialogue on digital accessibility in the public and private sectors. The second day will center on digital innovation for accessible Europe, featuring discussions on accessible smart cities, accessibility in virtual worlds, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for accessibility. The day will conclude with a pitching competition, showcasing state-of-the-art European digital technologies dedicated to assisting persons with disabilities and persons with specific needs.
The 2025 Forum will continue to advance valuable multistakeholder collaboration and dialogue to effectively reimagine digital innovation and transition towards a society that is inclusive by default, amplifying positive impact through the European Accessibility Act.
Accessible Europe as an inclusive platform welcomes participation from all stakeholders including policymakers, academic scholars, members of civil society, and the general public. A registration link will be provided soon to invite all interested parties to join the conversation.
