The inauguration of the IPv6 Laboratory on the 27th of September 2023, at the University of Montenegro, Podgorica, marked a significant milestone in Montenegro's digital infrastructure development. This strategic initiative was in response to the Government of Montenegro and the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services of Montenegro's (EKIP) collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to enhance the country's digital transformation. The establishment of the IPv6 Laboratory shows Montenegro's commitment to fostering a sustainable digital ecosystem, aligning with ITU Resolution 180 (Rev. Dubai, 2018) for facilitating the transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
The IPv6 laboratory at the University of Montenegro will host a 2-day event from the 20th to the 21st of December, 2023 which will include a detailed review of the laboratory's hardware and software capabilities, conducted by Jan Žorž and Balša Femić. This will be followed by the installation and customization of RIPE training services, concluding with a quality assurance review to end the first day.
The following day will engage technical staff of operators and EKIP representatives, beginning registration at 8:00. Pavle Mijušković of EKIP will inaugurate the training, followed by Jan Žorž's workshop on IPv6 deployment and best practices. The agenda will advance with a proposal for the establishment of a Network operation group, culminating in a discussion and Q/A session, which will conclude the event.

The workshop is designed at the national level for Montenegrin entities, offering on-site participation at the University of Montenegro's IPv6 laboratory.
