International Conference on Radio waves are not visible – What we do to make them transparent – Standards and Regulations (1-2 December 2021, Online)

In cooperation with the ITU Office for Europe and context of the expected results of the ITU Regional Initiatives for Europe, the National Institute of Telecommunications in cooperation with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, organize the annual International Educational and Scientific Conference to be held virtually on 1-2 December 2021 and will be devoted to the issues of the impact of the electromagnetic field on human life and health and the environment, in the context of the development of telecommunications technologies, especially 5G network solutions.

“Radio waves are NOT visible. What we do to make them transparent - standards and regulations" is the motto of this year's 6th edition of the Conference. The subject of the first day of the Conference will be how the permissible limits for electromagnetic fields are set and how compliance with them in Poland and in the world is verified. We will also focus on communicating issues related to electromagnetic fields, and in particular on how to talk about this complex physical phenomenon in order to easily pass on difficult knowledge to a wide audience.

The second day of the Conference will be devoted to medicine, education and the fight against fake news. It will be divided into three thematic panels to which Polish and foreign experts will be invited.

Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and the related restrictions, the Conference will be held online from the studio in Krakow on December 1st and 2nd, 2021, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The event can be followed on the profile of the National Institute of Telecommunications on YouTube and on the website of the Conference - konferencjapem.wydarzeniaonline.pl. The first 200 registered people will be able to comment on the speakers' speeches and ask them questions in the chat. More information can be found on the dedicated website of the event.
