Moldova Cyber Week 2020 “Building a strong cybersecurity infrastructure in the New Normal"


The Moldova Cyber Week 2020 “Building a strong cybersecurity infrastructure in the New Normal” will be held remotely on the 25, 26 and 27th of November. 

The annually event is organized by the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service and Technical University of Moldova under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of the European Union. 

The event is co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union within the framework of ITU Regional Initiative for Europe EUR4 “Enhancing trust and confidence in the use of information and communication technologies”, adopted by the WTDC-17, Buenos Aires. 

For this 9th edition, the intra-regional cybersecurity event aims at offering a platform of exchange between stakeholders working as part of the cybersecurity ecosystem and experiencing cyber threats on a day to day basis. 

 
This way, giving the opportunity to share country-specific necessities and visions and open the floor for the creation of potential new measures, legal frameworks, consolidating the necessary mutual trust between the Public and Private decision-makers, the inter-governmental policy advisors and the strategic partners.

 
The event will build upon the following four pillars: 
  • Cyber Policy Governance and Regulations.
  • Cyber for Cyber Citizen.
  • Cyber Technology and Industry Advancements.
  • Cyber Security and The Human Interface.
It is undeniable that Covid-19 has accelerated organizations and households across the world to embrace the use of technologies which, while creating opportunities, has created a fertile ground for cyber threats and crimes. Therefore, the conference provides an opportunity for the international community, governments, industries and academics to exchange experiences, ideas and good practices, in an effort to improve the state of cyber security on both national and international level. 

 
By bringing together countries from the region and international community, the conference aims at building trust between the cybercommunity and the citizens as well to promote a proper response to cyber threats and foster cooperation among cyber professionals and, together, reflect on the creation of a new normal.
