On 22–23 October 2025, the seminar “Digital Solutions for the Development of Cities and Communities” took place in Minsk, Belarus. The event was organized by the Belarusian State Academy of Communications, with the support of the ITU Regional Office for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus.
The seminar brought together 104 participants representing diverse sectors — including public authorities, academic and educational institutions, as well as developers and operators of digital solutions.
On the first day, participants explored key topics related to the development of digital infrastructure and educational platforms, including the national information and educational environment, EdTech tools in smart cities, and up-to-date solutions in cybersecurity and digital literacy enhancement for both civil servants and the general public.
The second day focused on the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in education — covering preschool, general, higher and adult professional education. A dedicated roundtable “Youth as a Driver of Digital Transformation” was held, where stakeholders discussed mechanisms to engage students and young professionals in designing startups and innovative solutions for smart cities and the digital economy.
The seminar strengthened dialogue among government, business and academia — contributing to efforts aimed at ensuring sustainable digital development of cities and communities, and advancing digital competencies across society.
