International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative backed by ITU Member States in Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014) to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Resolution 70 calls for all ITU members to celebrate and commemorate International Girls in ICT Day on the fourth Thursday of April every year.

On 27 April 2017, the ITU Area Office for CIS in Moscow (located at: 4, buld. 1, Sergiy Radonezhsky Str.) will organize Reginal Videoconference Seminar for CIS and Georgia dedicated to the International Girls in ICT Day. Representatives of Moscow-based organizations are invited to participate in the Seminar on-site, in the Area Office premises, the others are encouraged to participate remotely through videoconference system.

The Seminar will consider preliminary results of the Girls in ICT initiative and its further development. One of suggested ways is to identify a regional coordinator from among representatives of communication administrations, sector members, public organizations of CIS, which are interested in the initiative development and are willing to actively work in the field of professional orientation.
