Regional Videoconference for CIS Dedicated to the Girls in ICT Day and ITU 150th Anniversary, Moscow, Russian Federataion, 23 April

International Girls in ICT Day, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April every year, is an initiative backed by ITU Member States in Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Guadalajara, 2010) to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

The 2015 videoconference event, which will take place in the ITU Area Office for CIS on 23 April 2015, will be dedicated both to the International Girls in ICT Day and the ITU 150th Anniversary, which will be celebrated this year on 17 May.

AGENDA

The videoconference agenda will cover following issues:

  • the ITU gender policy;
  • women in the ICT sector in the countries of the RCC;
  • practice-oriented training in the field of ICT proved by the European National University named after Lev Gumilev;
  • history of the ITU;
  • cooperation between the RCC and the ITU in the CIS region;
  • Elektrosvyaz magazine to the ITU 150th Anniversary: evolution of technologies and partnership; cooperation between the International Telecommunication Academy and the ITU in the field of innovation and modern development of the ICT.
